Portfolio Introduction
The photographs in this series were all made from within an automobile. Beginning in 1991 with the birth of my first child and continuing, I photograph family life within the interior space of the caravan home most often during family vacations in the American West. I contrast what is within touching distance with that which lies beyond; I compare the past with other pasts.
